While we love essential oils, and believe our own blend is more than enough as an added layer of protection to proper hand washing, we’ve had a lot of folks asking us for something ’stronger’ given the current world environment. So (probably for a limited time only) we’ve taken our Protect blend of tea-tree, lemongrass and peppermint essential oils, and combined it with a 70% denatured alcohol. There are many homemade recipes for this available (usually using lavender) however we believe mixing alcohol with our own Protect ingredients hits the right mix of protection, aroma, & moisture for your skin.
As the oils and the alcohol don’t mix very well, you will see the separation in the bottle, so it is really important that you shake the bottle well before applying Protect+ to ensure you get the right mix of oils and alcohol for the best possible results.
As we say on our Protect blend: using Protect + is not a substitute for proper hand washing (official CDC video). And while the oils we use contain commonly accepted natural antiviral/antibacterial ingredients, they have not been lab-tested to determine its efficacy against viruses such as the COVID-19 virus. If you have doubts, check with a health care professional before using this or any home remedy on you or your family.
We strongly recommend that you first try our blends on a small patch of skin (your forearm for example) to test for any reactions or allergies - although all natural, some oils will cause a reaction in some small percentage of people, so to be safe not sorry please test first!
